Licensed Clinical Social Worker
“Everything in nature is imperfect, and it is because of that imperfection that growth is possible” -Brianna Wiest
Presence is a practice. Peace is a process. Safety lives in connection. Therapy provides a space to show up as you are and be received with warmth and trust. Vulnerability and curiosity are essential for growth. I encourage you to join me in embracing authenticity. I believe true wellness integrates our mind, body and spirit. My goal is to support you in finding a balance and optimize your well-being, while being present with you on your journey.
I am a licensed clinical social worker, and my professional background encompasses multiple facets of social work. I graduated from Clarion University of Pennsylvania in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Social Work. In 2009, I earned my master’s degree in social work from the University of Pittsburgh. I have experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings with a focus on integrating behavioral and physical health.
I worked for a Program for All Inclusive Care for the Elderly where I supported low-income seniors to maintain their independence in the community. I was a Hospice Social Worker where I focused on quality of life and comfort needs of the dying, while also providing bereavement support to their loved ones. I also have experience as a case manager where I met with adults in their homes to identify barriers of care and provide emotional and mental health support. I facilitated connection to community resources to help meet their individualized needs while focusing on transitions of care and social determinants of health. I have a strong understanding of how personal environment influences well-being. I have extensive experience working with adults with chronic illness and understand the impacts on mental health. I have served as a Field Instructor to second year MSW students through the University of Pittsburgh Roth Fellowship Program. I was also awarded the 2024 UPMC Health Plan Insurance Services Division Caring and Listening Award.
I utilize evidence-based therapy practices, and a strength’s based, person- centered approach. I have training and experience with Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I believe therapy is not one size fits all and am committed to meeting you where you are with a calm and validating presence. My approach is grounded in empathy, and I value humor. I am passionate about working with seniors, family caregivers and new moms.
Choice is a powerful tool. Change begins with choice. Healing is possible.
